Working in partnership with our sister company, EGY Builds, we deliver projects that have a tangible impact—whether it’s creating green spaces, improving water management, or enhancing community facilities. Our focus is on long-term sustainability, ensuring that every initiative we support not only meets immediate needs but also contributes to a healthier, more sustainable environment for future generations.

Bedelands Nature Reserve Bridge Build
The EGY Trust are delivering a new oak pedestrian bridge at Bedelands Nature Reserve.
We’re really excited to be supporting this project at Bedelands Nature Reserve. This is exactly the kind of initiative the EGY Trust was set up to deliver, something that benefits both people and the natural environment.
The bridge has been designed by EGY Design and constructed by EGY Builds during a four-day site installation, with all materials and labour donated.
The new pedestrian bridge is proposed within Bedelands Nature Reserve in West Sussex, spanning a tributary of the River Adur, upstream of Holmbush Mill.
The existing bridge is no longer serviceable, and its replacement will enhance accessibility while providing a durable, long-term solution.
The new bridge will be constructed from English oak and other locally sourced materials and will combine modern engineering with traditional craftsmanship.

The Big Swing Build
The EGY Trust helped The Gattons Infant School bring a long-held dream to life.
We were proud to help The Gattons Infant School in Burgess Hill bring a long-held dream to life — a six-seater hexagonal swing set that’s already transforming playtime for the children.
The idea originated from the school and its PTA. We supported the project through a joint effort between EGY Design and our sister company, EGY Builds. Together, we donated over 100 hours of labour, 10 hours of consultancy, and more than £2,000 worth of materials.
The result is a striking, durable, and interactive play feature that allows six children to swing together — encouraging teamwork, communication, and joyful connection.

This project really was a pipe dream and wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of EGY — in terms of their time designing and installing the swings, as well as the materials they provided. The children absolutely love them and are learning to collaborate, negotiate and have fun, which is what OPAL playtimes are all about!”

The project was delivered through The EGY Trust — our charitable initiative focused on outdoor and nature-based community projects. We’re passionate about creating joyful, inclusive spaces, especially when it means giving children more chances to explore, connect, and move freely.
